You will need:

• Top coat (partly full, needs to have free space in the bottle)
• Cornstarch
• Toothpick
• Tightly-woven sifter (for cornstarch)
• Plastic dish (disposable)

Steps:

1. Pour the cornstarch through a sifter into a small container. You will need only a few pinches of it.
2. Pour the cornstarch into the top coat using a paper, folding it, so as to create a small funnel.
   
3. Mix the top coat using the toothpick, close the bottle and shake it.
4. Use the top coat over any nail polish you want to check if it is matte enough for your taste. If it is not as you like it, add more cornstarch and repeat the following steps until you create the perfect top coat.

Tips:

• You can add a small bearing in the top coat after  you complete step 2. This will help you understand when the mixture is ready and perfectly blended.
• Before using it, don't forget to shake the bottle.

You will need:

• Nail polish
• Base coat
• Top coat
• 1 plastic glass
• water at room temperature
• 1 toothpick

Steps:

1. Apply some base coat to your nails.
2. When they are dry, fill the glass with water at room temperature.
3. Put one drop of nail polish over the water.
4. Let it expand on the water surface and then proceed with the next colour.
5. Repeat the process some more times.
6. With the toothpick, from the middle of the glass, draw a line to create a pattern.
7. Repeat until you are satisfied with the outcome.
8. Before the nail polish becomes dry, emerge your finger in the glass and don't take it out.
9. With the toothpick, remove the excess nail polish from the glass and take your finger out.
10. Repeat the whole process for each finger.
11. When your nails are dry, apply the top coat.

Tips:

• If you want the colours to pop out, choose white base for your nails.
• Usually you will get better results when you choose two or three matching colours.
• Don't hold the nail polish too high because the drop will emerge in the water and won't expand over the water.
• You can do this to all of your nails, one or two of them. It depends on how colourful you want your manicure to be.
• The nail polish must have a rich texture.
• You can put some petroleum jelly on your fingers (not on the nails) in the beginning. This will make it very easy to remove any excess.
• Practice makes perfect, so don't give up if you won't achieve it on the first time.
