Chocolate truffles

You will need:

  • 250gr. butter
  • 100gr. caster sugar
  • 125gr. dark chocolate
  • 5 tablespoons cognac or dark rum
  • 5  tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 50gr. petit beurre biscuits

Steps:

  1. Melt the butter in a pan on low temperature.
  2. Put the dark chocolate in the melted butter and mix well.
  3. Take the melted butter away from the heat.
  4. In a large bowl, put the petit beurre biscuits and break them in small pieces.
  5. Put the cognac (or the rum) in the butter mixture and mix.
  6. Put the butter mixture in the large bowl and mix very well.
  7. When the biscuits are covered, leave the mixture to cool down.
  8. Once the mixture is cool, place greaseproof paper on a large tray and with the help of a teaspoon, form small spheres.

Tips:

  • You can cover them with melted chocolate (dark or white), caster sugar, ground coconut, cocoa powder or anything you like.
  • You can also add some flavouring of your choice (for example orange or mocha flavouring) or chopped walnuts on step 5.
